GOP Wildly UNpopular

By Cliff Montgomery – Aug. 20th, 2011

A recent CNN poll reveals that holding American policy hostage with the manufactured “Debt Ceiling crisis” hasseverely hurt the popularity of both the Republican Party and its decidedly fascist “Tea Party” adherents.

Between June and early August, Republicans went from a “41% favorable and 55% unfavorable” rating(already quite bad) to a mind-numbing “33% favorable and 59% unfavorable” rating.

One percent of those polled claimed it “never heard of” the Republican Party, while 7% said it held “no opinion.”

It is the worst-ever showing in a scientific poll for the GOP, according to The Washington Monthly.

Perhaps surprisingly, the Republicans’ current score is even worse than that given for the typically unpopular”Tea Party” movement, which suffered a score of “31% favorable and 51% unfavorable.” Five percent said ithad “never heard of” the ‘Tea Party’, and 13% said it had “no opinion” of the reactionary movement.

The Democratic Party essentially maintained a lukewarm “47% favorable and 47% unfavorable” rating, with aremaining 6% stating it held “no opinion.”

So the American public is understandably meeting the claims of the Democratic Party with something of acollective yawn. But the GOP and its ultra-Right “Tea Party” friends are simply hated, for equallyunderstandable reasons.
