Since When Has Mccain Cared About The Facts On Iraq?

A person cannot deny the essential lies upon which something is based, and then claim to be ‘looking for facts’ about the matter. Since When Has McCain Cared About The Facts On Iraq?By Cliff Montgomery – Mar. 16th, 2008Senator John McCain (R-AZ), the probable GOP presidential nominee who strongly supports the fruitless nation-building of Iraq, arrived in that country’s capital on Sunday to meet with American and Iraqi administrators, according to a U.S. government official. The details of McCain’s anticipated photo-op have not been released for reasons of security, the U.S. Embassy told reporters. It’s not immediately clear who McCain has visited in Iraq. No overt media gala is planned–at least that’s the official story, and right now everyone’s sticking to it.It is thought by many news organizations that McCain, a man who has hinged his presidential hopes on denying reality in Iraq, will remain in the war-torn country for only 24 hours.”Senator McCain is in Iraq and will be meeting with Iraqi and U.S. officials,” U.S. Embassy in Baghdad spokesman Mirembe Nantongo told reporters. This is McCain’s eighth photo-op in Iraq. This time he is accompanied by Senator Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut Republican who pretends to be an independent, and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). The two Republicans firmly support McCain’s presidential bid. Before leaving, McCain made a point of glossing over his Iraq photo-op, lamely declaring that his trip is for ‘fact-finding purposes,’ and should not be seen as a cheap attempt to connect his presidential campaign with U.S. troops in Iraq. But any person who overtly denies the essential truth of the “War” in Iraq–that it is based on nothing but a tissue of lies and clear deceit–cannot claim to be interested in any other facts of this conflict.John McCain cannot deny the lies which serve as the basis for the fruitless nation-building of Iraq, and then claim to be ‘looking for facts’ about the conflict. The very notion is an insult to both intelligence and to American troops.Perhaps this most recent trip has something to do with the unfortunate fact that attacks against U.S. personnel appear to be going up again. On Wednesday, American officials in that country received a gruesome delivery: five severed fingers, four of which had belonged to four Americans and one which had belonged to an Austrian. The five were taken hostage in Iraq over a year ago.If that is any indication of things to come, McCain may need this photo op more than he thinks.Like what you’re reading so far?
