Recently, the congressional panel said to be investigating the federal response to the COVID-19 virus voted along party lines to find Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of its inquiry. Dr. Fauci refused to answer questions about his government service during the crisis, citing his Fourth Amendment right to refuse to answer questions he felt might wrongly or mistakenly be used against him.
As The American Spark pointed out in a previous article, Biden provided Dr. Fauci with an immunity from potential prosecution for his public service during the height of the COVID crisis – which occurred during Trump’s first attempt at the presidency. That immunity only covered Fauci’s federal actions from January 1st, 2014 to January 19th, 2025.
So any actions the doctor performs outside that time – like a 2026 testimony given to biased Congressional investigators, for instance – may be misused to wrongly convict him of crimes he did not commit.
Thus the investigators are basing their denial of Dr. Fauci’s constitutional right on an obvious untruth. And if they actually get away with trampling on Dr. Fauci’s constitutional rights in such a public setting, they might try it with anyone.
And Trump and his lemmings have already stacked up quite a hit list against former allies like Dr. Fauci.
Consider a simple list of previous Trump allies, who quickly became targets after showing a strain of independent thought:
- Fox News television hosts Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly
- Right-wing media personalities Alex Jones and Candace Owens. These four appear to have disagreed with Trump over his constant flip-flops on Iran.
- William Barr, Trump’s Attorney General. Trump attacked him after Barr publicly admitted that the Justice Department found no evidence of widespread fraud during the 2020 presidential election, when Trump lost to Joe Biden.
- Mike Pence, vice-president during Trump’s first presidency. His sin? A refusal to reject the valid, proven results of the 2020 election during the January 6th election result certification. The results were validated by state and federal tribunals over 60 times. Even GOP-backed justices (some personally appointed by Trump) found the claims of election fraud to be simply untrue.
- John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff. The critiques Kelly leveled at Trump after his tenure as staff chief were greatly based on Kelly’s previous experience as a Marine general. This meant nothing to Trump, who convinced himself that Kelly’s judgment suddenly could not be trusted.
- John Bolton, a well-known right-wing critic of the UN and international law. One would think that Trump had found a constant ally, but he too eventually ended his service to the Trump presidency. After leaving, he wrote a tell-all book critical of Trump. That’s when Trump childishly referred to the former ally as an incompetent “wacko.”
Notice a pattern? Eventually, numerous political allies disagree with Trump. It’s a common occurrence. But Trump continually calls all of these people things like “incompetent” and “wackos.” But who picked all of these people in the first place? He did. So doesn’t that make him the most incompetent wacko of them all?
And wouldn’t any attempt to deny that undeniable fact simply offer a final verification of his own incompetence?
It’s clear that Dr. Fauci is not Trump’s enemy. A simple look at his hit list proves that the Trump crew punishes independent thought and any proven truth that their ideological master doesn’t want to hear. In political discourse, such a group is called an echo chamber. In psychology, it is called schizophrenia among like-minded individuals. To people in the U.S. and around the world, it is simply a disaster.
